Why campaign finance time is FUN TIME!

I recently posted a story rounding up the April Quarterly campaign finance numbers for Senate candidates, but I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about how we’ll be handing campaign finance reports here at pa2010.com.

The Web has forever changed the way journalists and readers interact, and anyone who ignores that does so at their own peril. Rather than simply spoon-feeding you facts about campaign finance data and leaving it at that, I will be counting on you, the readers, to be my secret weapon in news-gathering.

At the minimum, I will always link to the campaign finance data I’m presenting. And whenever possible, I will provide full copies of campaign finance reports for you to download.

So be my sleuth! Look through the reports at your leisure. See something interesting? Let me know! See something fishy? Let me know! I’m just one person. But together, we can dig into these with a fine-tooth comb, and find things that other news organizations are bound to miss.

So start crunching those numbers.
