Thing of the Week, Volume 2

This week, we had a few nominees for “Thing of the Week”…

1. In the category of person, Pat Toomey. For a guy who is not supposed to be the wildly confused soap=opera candidate, he sure seems to be fitting that mold. I would not want this job, and I’d be bad at it… yet up by 21 points. Okay, I guess.

2. For some reason, Josh Shapiro’s cell phone bill seems to be a good candidate. Something that makes sense, and yet can get billed by the GOP as a sneak tax increase. Wow… Michael Steele… I thought this wasn’t the party of no, but the party of know? Sorry, I was wrong…

3. Finally, props to Russ Diamond, Gene Stilp, and Tom Lingenfelter. You may be the three politicians who have seen more failure than anyone else, getting kicked off of ballots and being the laughing stock (in my view) of the world of state politics, but you got a Senate candidate in Bill Kortz. Does PACleanSweep include Arlen Specter?

And, drum roll… I hereby proclaim Russ Diamond the winner! Although Pat Toomey and Josh Shapiro come close, the irony of PACleanSweep getting someone into higher office is preposterous. Therefore, props to Russ! Sorry Josh and Pat. If you face eachother in Nov ember 2010, you will have plenty of chances.
