Specter flush with $6.7M in campaign cash

Facing a grueling reelection battle, Senator Arlen Specter raised more than $1.2 million during the first three months of the year, finishing the quarter with a whopping $6.7 million in cash on hand, according to new campaign finance data.

Specter, who needs to survive a tough Republican primary to make it to next year’s general election, raised about $869,000 from individual donors, along with about $417,000 from political action committees.He spent about $352,000, much of it for payroll and various credit card expenses.
