Pa. Dems welcome Specter

What a wild 24 hours it’s been! Last night, Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chairman T.J. Rooney issued a statement welcoming Sen. Specter into the Democratic tent.

His fierce independence and courageous stands—such as voting for President Barack Obama’s stimulus package—are admired greatly by many.

While it’s too early to really talk about “endorsements,” the Party has a strong record in supporting its incumbents.

Gov. Ed Rendell will issue a statement later today on Specter’s switch.
