Obama welcomes Specter as ‘one tough hombre’
With scenes like this, it could get harder for other Democrats to fathom a primary against Senator Arlen Specter.
Welcoming Specter to the party at the White House this morning, President Obama praised Specter as an advocate for health care.
“Today I have the honor of standing next to the newest Democrat from the state of Pennsylvania,” Obama said.

It is truly a disgrace that Obama says he’ll back Specter. We owe that formerly dead man walking nothing. Its a gift to even LET HIM run in our Primary. He was 22 points down in the GOP primary y’know, dead as a doornail….
