How will voter reg numbers affect 2010 elections?
Busy Day! At noon at 112 State Street in Harrisburg, our Party is hosting a press conference with Attorney General Tom Corbett who will be formally endorsing our endorsed PA GOP judicial team led by Supreme Court candidate Judge Joan Orie Melvin. Should be a great event and I would encourage anyone in the area to stop by if they have a chance.
Check out the following story regarding the current voter registration numbers by clicking here. I think there will probably be no stats more analyzed and talked about than the deficit in registered voters our Party faces heading into the 2010 election cycle.
How will the registration gap affect the 2010 elections and our candidates?
First of all, Republicans have been winning in Pennsylvania despite the registration disadvantage for years. Considering the number of candidates who are interested in running, these candidates must also be optimistic about their chances. In addition, the typical turnout in a non-presidential election is often much lower, which puts an emphasis on getting more Republicans out to vote than our Democrat counterparts. Our Party has proven that we have a far superior get-out-the-vote operation than the Democrat Party. Want proof? Look at the 29th State Senatorial Campaign where our Party was able to push Republican turnout to near presidential levels and allowed our candidate to sweep to an impressive double-digit victory.
The news was certainly an encouraging sign that the voter registration spike the Democrats enjoyed last year has ended. Our Party realizes that we must continue being aggressive in registering voters and we are already making that happen.

Corbett refuses to endorse Craig Dally for Northampton County judge because of Bonusgate. Endorses statewide GOP judge candidates. Dally blew the whistle on Veon’s BIG. Corbett’s talking to Castor.
